Legal Framework

EKRAM Foundation is a non-political and non-profit making organization, which has its mandate in the approved constitutions of the organization.

Registration Information:

The Organization has been registered with ‘Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, Bangladesh, and awarded affiliation under Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 vide Reg. No. S-11826 Date: 15-12-2013

EKRAM Foundation has its approved constitutions and hold election regularly as said in the constitutions  

For smooth functioning of the organization there will three categories of committee

  1. General Committee
  2. Executive Committee
  3. Advisory Committee

General Committee:

The General Committee is composed of at least 11 members and its maximum size will be 21. The founder members or prompter is included in the general committee. This is highest decision-making body in the society. They approve annual budget, audited accounts of the society and empowered to look into all sort of physical, financial and planning affairs of the society. This committee will sit at least once in a year.

Executive Committee:

This Executive Committee (EC) is composed of total 7 (seven) members. The members has been elected or selected on consensus by the General Members. The duration of the EC will be for 2 (two) years. The composition of the Executive Committee will be as under

i.Chairman (1)

ii.Vice-Chairman (1)

iii. General Secretary (1)

iv. Treasurer (1)

v. Executive Member (3)

  • The Executive Committee is accountable to the General Committee. The General Secretary of the EC is the ex-officio Executive Director or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation and be accountable to the EC.
  • The EC is responsible for formulation of all sort policy guides, major policy decision body of the organization and would be associated to the implementation of the programs / projects relating to major development efforts.
  • The EC is empowered to framing rules, regulations, and memorandums and give approval to implement the aims and objectives of the societies.
  • The EC is authorized to delegate major functional power to any EC members or else if they deem necessary for the smooth functioning of the society.

Advisory Committee:

There are 3 (three) members advisory committee nominated by the Executive Committee for providing expert opinion, technical assistance for accepting projects. This committee provides assistance and suggestion towards overcoming severe problems or obstacles therein.
